Hi. Welcome to Cyber Mum.
You live a busy life, managing the family, making sure World War 3 doesn’t start every morning, working hard, playing hard. You use the internet (and thank god for internet shopping), you know it can be a dangerous place, but don’t really know as much as you might like.
That’s why we have created Cyber Mum. A one stop shop for everything you need to know to keep you and your family safe online. We have articles on how to keep your kids safe online and how to really know what they are up to. We also have lots of details on how to protect yourself online, from your own privacy, to internet banking and scams. We cover all the technical jargon such as malware, ransomware, whateverware, Whatsthis, WhatsApp, whatever.
Basically, there are a lot of bad guys trying to do bad stuff, and you need to know about it.
Now, there are loads of fantastic websites already on the web which give you some great advice – especially when it comes to keeping kids safe online and we highly recommend you take the time to read the great content they have produced.
So how is Cyber Mum different? I hear you ask.
We are a little less politically correct, we have our own personal opinions and experiences and want to share and discuss these with others. We focus on more than just keeping kids safe online, we think the whole family needs to be safe, and threats come in many different disguises. You’ll find that we go into more detail in trying to expose some of these dangers. The internet is a fantastic place and has changed all of our lives, mainly for the better. For some though, their lives have been turned upside down, whether this is through fraud, explicit content, threats, addiction, or anything else, and we don’t want this to happen to you.
We are here to try and help.
Take a moment, read what we have to say, form your own opinion, contribute in the discussion. Hopefully you can learn from us and we can learn from you.
